Driveway Details! Why Are There Cracks On Your Drive?

First we want to thank you for reading! If you’re interested in our services, feel free to call us and set an appointment for a free estimate.

You’ll notice that there is a large crack in this driveway. Cracks in driveways are very common. Most people just look at it as a fact of life. Here are the main reasons that driveways crack. As you read them, you may consider ways that you can prevent cracking in your own driveway.

It is possible that your driveway has a poorly constructed base. If that is the case, it cause your driveway to crack in the future.

Also, if you have many trees on your property, the roots may lift some parts which will cause cracking on your driveway.

Excessive weight will damage your driveway. Most driveways are not made to support huge trucks or anything of the sort, so be mindful of the the vehicles that are parking on your driveway! Large trucks parked over time will cause damage.

Also, using salt in excess on driveways will damage it. This should not be a big problem considering we are located in Florida and it hardly ever even gets that cold. If you are reading this from a colder location, be careful about the amount of salt you put on your driveway.
